F100 Has Annouced their 2017 Racing Schedule

F100 Karters announced earlier this week their 2017 racing Schedule.  This Season F100 is running three separate racing programs; So-Cal Championship, Club Challenge and CA Shoot-out.  The So-Cal Championship is the traditional racing program that F100 has been putting on for the past 5 years.  This year however it has been condensed to just 5 racing dates at 4 tracks:

March 25, 2017 - Willow Springs

April 29, 2017 - Adams

May 27, 2017 - Grange

July 22, 2017 - Apex

September 23, 2017 - Grange

Velocity Karting will field its team of drivers and support each of these racing dates.  Additionally Velocity will schedule practice dates for these tracks to prepare for the races.  It should be noted that the above listed races are all on Saturdays.

The Club Challenge is a new series that F100 is running this season in association with other clubs.  It consists of four races at three tracks/clubs.  These would be nonpoint races for the Championship classes and the schedule does conflict with other races already on the Velocity 2017 racing schedule.  As such Velocity is not prepared to commit to supporting that series.  We may end up racing in some of their events, but at this point we will surely miss their opening round as it conflicts with the PAK race on February 26th.  More info on this schedule will be available should Velocity decide to attend one of their events.  You can always get more information by clicking on their link to the right of this post.

Lastly, F100 is hosting a 2 day California State Shoot-out at Willow Springs Kart Track.  This event will be held October 28, 2017 and October 29, 2017 and will pit us So-Cal racers against the Nor-Cal racers.  Not only can we get a chance to claim the bragging rights of being a State Champion, this race is considered a Pro race as every class has a purse.  Velocity Karting will support this event extensively with plenty of practice dates to be scheduled.

Thanks for supporting Velocity Karting.

Pacific Associaion of Karters Round 1

The first race of the 2017 Velocity Karting racing season is just under 3 weeks away.  On Sunday January 29th we hit the pavement at Apex Karting for Round 1 of the PAK season.  This season we will see our cadets racing in three classes with Hayden Huelsman going after the Jr 1 Comer A Title, Ahkil Bhakta competing for the Mini Swift Title and Bela Richards chasing his first career win in the Jr 1 B Comer division.  Additionally we will see Brett Revetta and Jayden Alden making their debuts this year at PAK in the Jr1 Comer B class.

Although much of the focus at PAK is on the Junior drivers, this Season Velocity Karting will pursue a Championship in PAK's F100 class.  We haven't confirmed yet if the entire team will chase that Championship yet but Stephen Huelsman intends to push for that title.  Since the F100 Season doesn't begin for at least another month, we anticipate a good field of drivers in the F100 class on the 29th.

Velocity Karting will be practicing on Saturday the 28th at Apex to prepare for the race.  Make sure the team knows if you need anything for the race on the 29th (weight, tires, fuel, oil, lube, parts etc.) and we will make sure everything makes the trailer.  We are working on getting tires at wholesale but no contract is in place yet.
